Folic acid... Importance to pregnancy

Folic Acid is also known as Vitamin B12 or folate is important to your pregnancy and even before you are trying to conceive. The reasons why we need to take folic acid: It helps in developing healthy cells to our growing little buddy and to our body as well.  It reduces the risk of birth defects such as neural tube defects (NTDs), heart and limb defects, urinary tract anomalies, narrowing of the lower stomach valve, and oral facial clefts (like cleft lip and cleft palate). Most doctors recommend this vitamin during our first check up to them. Personally, When I first knew I was pregnant through a PT (Pregnancy Test) I bought over the counter folic acid even before my first checkup. However, there are foods that are a good source of folic acid: spinach asparagus broccoli peas corn oranges dark green leafy vegetables papaya strawberry avocado okra celery squash sources:  http://sogc.org/publications/folic-acid-for-preconception-and-pre...

All set for Baby Jairus

Few more days....Baby Jairus Paul will see the outside world! Just recently, his needs such as clothings, towels, rompers, mittens, booties, etc...etc...were all complete! And... I changed my doctor (OB)! Yes, because of some personal reasons and money matters... I had my 1st and 2nd check to my new OB from a public hospital. I preferred a painless birth. I hope I could make it again..well, my instinct says I can! :D I already had my admitting order in case of early labor. I made sure everything's is ready! November would be too short to wait for our little baby boy! We can't wait to see and cuddle him!

My 8th Month

I am patiently waiting for Jairus Paul to come out! Ooppsss, but not so, so soon... few weeks more! It was a relief after finding out that results in my CAS were all normal! I was being paranoid these past few months, worrying here and there. I am now enjoying his every move in my tummy. He's so strong! it's quite painful but I love it! I know it's a sign that he is healthy! By the way, I'm on a diet...diet for carb. He's big! Base on the ultrasound he is already 2.4kg. He is    2 weeks ahead of the normal size of his age... I hope I could deliver him thru NSD!

It's a boy! (Late Post)

Yes, It's a boy and it's confirmed! I had my Congenital Anomaly Scan last Oct.5 at Malolos Women's Ultrasound Clinic. It was 2D scan and we were able to see his face in 3D and his genital area!  The results of the tests were all normal. Thanks God!

my 4th month

Time runs so fast... I'm on my 4th month. My tummy gets a little bigger, I think I gain some weight.. My ordinary cloths can't fit me and I think I have to try some maternity dress when out. I am more sleepy and take a nap every time I feel I need to. I am overwhelmed with the people around me for pampering me much! :D According to my research, My little baby's size is 5in and weigh about 100 grams. The circulatory system and urinary tract are in full working working order, and and inhaling and exhaling through the lungs.

My 3rd Month

hi! I've been trying to take picture of myself since I got pregnant to monitor  my belly gets bigger. I wasn't able to capture my earlier weeks for some reasons. But this time, I asked my daughter to take me pictures and she was able to shot me well. On my third month, I started to feel more energetic. I'm already done with my labtests and the results were good.

Craving for....

Like my 2 previous successful pregnancies, I am one of the lucky pregnant women who haven't experienced morning sickness, vomiting or nausea. I just had mood swings, am being moody all the time. And what more could a pregnant women famous...  craving for a specific food.    During my 1st pregnancy, I craved for M&M peanut and champoy. On my 2nd was serkele. My husband would always treat me for a serkele almost everyday. And this time, I crave for.... Fried chicken (from Ate Jean's eatery)...haven't eaten yet (huhuhu) naubusan ako kanina... and chocolate cake...hubby bought me some but I think I want Red Ribbon cake hehehe!

Bored!v Lazy Me!

I'm getting bored lately... or Lazy! hehe!!! well, being lazy perhaps a part of being pregnant! I'm lucky enough for haven't had a nausea but I', soooooo tired and felt like I don't want to do anything. I spent most of time lying in my bed. Fortunately, people around me here understand what I'm going through. Next week, if everything is confirmed, I'd write about my pregnancy!

Blighted Ovum

Months ago, I was so surprised in finding out I was pregnant. Though it was not planned (again), but we really like to have an addition to the family. Most of my friends knew I really wanted to have a big one. Last, Last Friday was my scheduled pre-natal check up. I had a transvi ultrasound again and found out that I had a blighted ovum. My baby did not grow nor formed. But the gestational sac grew. We were so sad but we had to accept the fact that I missed a pregnancy again. I knew it from the start. My body and instinct already told me that there’s something wrong with what’s happening inside my body but I hoped and believed it was ok especially when my bleeding stopped after two weeks. After finding my condition, My OB told me to stop my vitamins and medicines. I bleed a little and I still wait to open up my cervix and proceed to D&C procedure . My OB preferred me to stay and wait it at home. After a week, My bleeding and cramps increased. I went to my doctor and had the D&C...

Hold on baby!

It's almost 2 weeks since I went to my OB for my 1st check up. I still bleed a little until now. My OB told me to that my pregnancy now is at risk. I had my ultrasound last week and yesterday and seen only the gestational sac, it's growing but can't see the baby yet because it's too early to tell. I've been given medicines and vitamins, I rest a lot, put away worries and pray hard. I hope  know these would work. 4 Weeks Pregnant The ultra sound says it's 4weeks and 3days... but base on my last mens period,  it's almost 6weeks...

I'm 5weeks pregnant

I've been absent in blogging for a week. First, I've been busy with my kids in preparing their things for school. Since I don't have a helper, I have done it all. (with the help of hubby, of course) Second, busy with the shop. I've got many customers now unlike last school years. Many students have known that I make personalized sticker tag for notebooks and books. And the highlight! I'm pregnant!!! From the first fews days of mens delay, I already thought I was pregnant. Unlike my previous pregnancies, I was having a little bleeding lately. That's why  me and hubby went to the doctor after I confirmed it through PT. I was a little worry because of the bleeding and kept thinking and wishing that It wasn't an ectopic pregnancy. I have read that once had an ectopic pregnancy has a greater chance to have it again. I had an transvi ultasound. It was a relief when my doctor told us that it wasn't an ectopic. . But she said that I need to take a rest for 2 w...

Mommy Moments: Preggy Tales

Happy Mother's Day!  It took almost two years before I got pregnant with my first baby.  I took series of medication just to get pregnant. When I suspected I was pregnant, I bought a pregnancy test without telling to my husband. I woke up early in the morning, took the test and the result was positive. There I told to hubby that we were having our long awaited baby. We were really happy that time. Nothing can compare it! I was lucky because I never experienced pregnancy symptoms like vomiting and nausea. I was just sleepy all the time and very lazy. When I was 6 months pregnant, My hubby went abroad to work. I gave birth without him on my side but he was constantly calling and knowing my conditions. But I never told him that I was already in contraction because I won't like him to be worried and might affect his work. The labor lasted 10 hours and gave birth to a 7.04 lbs baby girl through normal delivery... and that's the time my sister called hubby. Hubby's hom...

Ectopic pregnancy

Ectopic Pregnancy It is exactly 2 years since I had an Ectopic pregnancy, we should have a  third child. I was able to retrieved my blog 2 years ago and wanted to share: Dated April 23, 2009 "a week ago, i was excited when i found out that i was pregnant.. it was unexpected, not in the plan but felt very blessed. and it was very different from my previous pregnancies… i felt lots of pain at my back,  stomach and chest. i immediately thought there was something unusual. after the night i knew i was pregnant (12am when i had a pregnancy test) the pain became worsened and can’t bear to stand or walk. i called my ob-gyne, Dra. Evelyn Lao and told about my situation. she advised me to go to a nearest clinic to make an appropriate remedy for my situation..but, i want her to take care of me. so, hubby took me there. when i told my doctor all what is happenning to me, she told me that i was having an ectopic pregnancy and needed an immediate operation. to be sure, i was given a ...
